ZANINI ARTE is pleased to present “Elemento Acqua”, the new exhibition of one of the most promising Italian talents in the contemporary art scene: the artist Cris Devil.
The exhibition, curated by Sandie Zanini, will be inaugurated on Saturday, October 25th at 6:30 PM in the evocative Casina Vanvitelliana in Bacoli (NA), a splendid Bourbon villa, among the most refined 18th-century architectures created by the Vanvitelli family, father and son. Here, until November 9th, the most significant works from the artist’s latest cycle will dialogue with the historical residence that hosts them.
In a location, the “Real Casino Borbonico”, which delicately yet imposingly rests on the waters of Lake Fusaro, the exhibition invites reflection on the importance of water, a universal primary good, using a contemporary artistic language in a neo-pop surrealist style.
In a context where historical architecture establishes a dialogue with contemporary art, the public is offered an engaging journey through a visual narration that connects past, present, and future, among painting, sculpture, and digital works.
Experimentation in the works is evident from the very materials: where three-dimensional reliefs, aluminum, and resin, also thanks to new 3D techniques, merge with vibrant colors, generating compositions that are playful and dynamic but, at the same time, reflective.
Water, in fact, always a symbol of purity and rebirth, now appears contaminated by human action. Through this exhibition, the artist seeks to reconnect us with the primary element, evoking a sense of responsibility.
Sandie Zanini, curator of the exhibition, expresses what awaits us in these words:
“While reality takes on increasingly despotic and ruthless contours, art offers us a passage… It is not about escape, but about reconnection. A true re-encounter with what really matters: the genuine, natural substance of matter. Earth and Water.”
Within the exhibition setup, there is the “Room of the Future”, a small semicircular moon-shaped area dedicated to new technologies applied to art. Here, state-of-the-art screens will present Cris Devil’s new digital works, creating an excursus through paintings, sculptures, and 3D animations to stimulate visitors’ experience and reflection.
