“From the Heart to the Hands” lands in Rome: Vittorio Bonapace among the featured artists of the Dolce&Gabbana exhibition

After its first two acclaimed stops, Palazzo Reale in Milan and the Grand Palais in Paris, “From the Heart to the Hands: Dolce&Gabbana” arrives in Rome, in this Jubilee Year, at the iconic Palazzo Esposizioni, where it will be on view until August 13th, 2025.

Promoted by the Department of Culture of Roma Capitale and Azienda Speciale Palaexpo, under the patronage of Roma Capitale and produced in collaboration with IMG, the exhibition is curated by Florence Müller and offers an immersive journey through Italian art, craftsmanship, fashion, and culture. A newly conceived exhibition layout engages with the vast architecture of the Palazzo, transforming each room into a sensory experience of light, sound, music, and evocative stage design.

A monumental video installation greets visitors at the entrance, immersing them in a visual journey dedicated to Italian savoir-faire. Among the digital artists selected by Dolce&Gabbana to bring this visionary narrative to life is Vittorio Bonapace, with his artwork “Deus Ex Machina”, alongside artists Quayola, Alberto Maria Colombo, Felice Limosani, and ObviousArt.
Deus Ex Machina, created specifically for this exhibition, is a series of ten exclusive digital works that blend Renaissance aesthetics and classical humanism with futuristic android visions. The result is a delicate balance between past and future, brought to life through expert use of 3D technology rooted in artisanal research—perfectly aligned with the values of the Dolce&Gabbana maison.

“There’s a long process of research and the use of various software tools—starting from scratch, modeling in 3D, and achieving photographic lighting with a slightly religious, Renaissance quality. It serves as a bridge to Dolce&Gabbana’s own handcrafted approach. There’s deep attention to detail, no use of AI—it’s an old-school way of doing 3D and creating digital art.” – Vittorio Bonapace

As Nigel Hurst, Head of Exhibitions at IMG, remarked: “This exhibition is a love letter to Italian culture through the eyes of Dolce&Gabbana. It is an act of generosity, offering us a deeper understanding of Italian art and craftsmanship across the centuries.”

An unmissable stop in the heart of Rome, where fashion and art come together to celebrate the true essence of Made in Italy craftsmanship.
