In Milan, from April 21 to 26, 2026, on the occasion of Milano Design Week 2026, the Intimissimi boutique on Via Montenapoleone hosts Beauty Begins Inside, a site-specific installation by the artist Andrea Crespi, curated by Sandie Zanini. The exhibition transforms the store into an immersive space, celebrating contemporary femininity.
Andrea Crespi, represented by Zanini Arte Gallery, is known for his research at the intersection of physical and digital art, optical illusion, and social transformation. With this project, the artist reinterprets Canova’s iconic Venus Italica through continuous lines that define its profile in a play of material subtraction. The sculpture, created at a 1:1 scale in sand, becomes a metaphor for intimacy, sensuality, and feminine strength, engaging in dialogue with the environment and the store’s color palette while multiplying through reflections created by mirrors.
The contemporary Venus sculptures by Andrea Crespi are reflected in a mirrored installation, through which the viewer is invited to engage in a dialogue with the work, becoming an integral part of it.
With Beauty Begins Inside, the artist invites the viewer to reflect on a form of beauty that goes beyond appearance: it is not about fleeting vanity, but about a deeper essence that resides within each of us.
